Call 310-287-4475 to register

Pharmacy Technician is among the fastest growing occupations in California, predicted to grow by 25-35% through 2018. The West LA College Pharmacy Technician Program can prepare you for a career in this high-demand field in 9 months. Classes begin Oct. 7. If you missed our recent FREE Orientation, then view a slideshare of it at the bottom to learn how our program prepares you to work in this exciting field.

Our Most Comprehensive Program Ever! Advanced Clinical Training Now Included.
Our Pharmacy Technician Certificate Program includes 80 hours of advanced clinical training to better prepare you to work in all clinical pharmacy settings, including acute care hospitals and assisted living, home care, and long-term care facilities. This clinical training will also give you greater opportunities to earn money as a Pharmacy Tech and to advance in your career.

Pharmacy Technicians primarily assist the pharmacist, review prescriptions for completeness and authenticity, help prepare and distribute medications, control inventory and place orders, assist in payment and billing. The work is very rewarding, including financially. Full-time Pharmacy Techs earn between $30,000 and $40,000 per year (part-time positions also exist) and often receive benefits. Pharmacy Techs working in a clinical environment like a hospital typically earn 30-40% more per hour, up to $76,000 per year.

Our comprehensive, certificate program is comprised of 8 courses and totals over 490 hours of instruction, including an externship in which you will receive on-the-job training at a community pharmacy training site. Our program curriculum meets the requirements of the Association of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP).
