If you love makeup or are a cosmetologist looking to offer more to your customers, this hands-on class is for you! Get to know the terminology, tools, and techniques of the makeup business. Topics include color matching, proper tools to achieve the correct looks for different occasions, the most economical way to build a kit, and professional etiquette. Also find out what makeup artists can and can’t do, and get the inside scoop on how the industry works, how to enter the field, and how to handle customers (even brides!). Those who complete the final look will earn a certificate and know all you need to about this exciting and fun career! Note: this class does not teach special effects or monster makeup. $40 material fee for makeup used during class. Instructor Jennessy Tyler has been a professional makeup artist since 1998 and teaching since 2005. She has done makeup for music videos, fashion shows, and photo shoots as well as worked for companies like M.A.C., Tom Ford, YSL, Dior, and Chanel.

Laying the Foundation
Foundation literally lays the foundation for your artistry. Find out how skin care and prep impact your makeup application, as well as some skin conditions to be aware of. Learn to identify undertones in both people and makeup in order to get that perfect match. Jennessy will also cover use of corrective concealer, application and blending for the look you need.

 
Get Cheeky
Discover how to reshape features by highlighting and contouring, for correction or enhancement. Also discuss blush color choices, placement, styles, mood and occasion.
 
The Eyes Have it 
Just two eye makeup techniques will enable you to create almost any look you see in magazines. Also learn tightline, winged, and fashion placement of liner. Find out how to enhance different eye shapes, along with creating a neutral eye. Also learn to create the perfect brow. This is not a workshop on eyebrow waxing or threading.
 
Smokin' Eyes 
Continue to learn different smokey looks used for music videos, prom, or a just night out on the town. Also find out how to apply both strip and individual false lashes for a dramatic flair.

 
Show It Off
Show off all you’ve learned by completing a basic beauty look in record time, followed by instructor critique, questions and answers.
