Every summer West L.A. College bustles with kids attending our great summer camps. Our College Bound 4 Kids Full-Day Camp combines academic refresher skills in reading, writing and math in the morning with fun activities in the afternoon. There will be four field trips each week, including an all-day field trip to a major amusement park and three local trips. This year, in association with College Bound 4 Kids, we are excited to offer four new half-day specialty camps for boys and girls ages 6-13: Art-tastic!, Dance, Dance, Dance, Math Can Be Fun! and Sports & Fitness Camp. Also returning is our popular Basketball Camp, where boys and girls ages 9-13 can develop their basketball skills and scrimmage with other young hoopsters, as well as Brit-West Soccer Camp for boys and girls ages 5-14. So come camping with Westside Extension this summer!
Get in shape for summer with our great fitness classes, taught by experienced professionals. Our Zumba®, Salsa Blast Workout, Aqua-Zumba® and Introduction to Boot Camp are great ways to get in on some of the hottest trends in fitness. If you want to focus on strengthening your core abdominal area, then our popular Mat Pilates and Stretch and Tone classes will fit the bill. And Yoga, Intro to Tai Chi Ch’uan, Yogi Barre and Aqua Aerobics classes offer gentle exercises that will improve your flexibility and provide a sense of calm. All of our fitness classes are taught by experienced professionals and are held during evenings and weekends to fit your busy schedule. Come get fit with us!
We love to dance! That’s why Extension dance classes are so popular. We have a large variety of dance classes for every interest. Kick up your heels to start the summer in one of our popular Extension dance classes. We offer a large variety of dance classes for every interest. Our Salsa Dance and Let’s Dance classes will get you dancing like a star. Try our beautiful and lovely Beginning Hawaiian Hula classes. If you like to stomp your feet a bit, try Tap Dancing. Show your shimmy in Belly Dancing, your passion in Argentine Tango or your sexy side in Flamenco Dance. Groove to the music in our Hip-Hop Dance class or jitterbug in It’s Swing Time. You’re sure to have a good time in any of our dance classes.
Tennis
It doesn't get much better than playing tennis on a beautiful sunny day in Southern California. Tennis continues to be one of the most popular sports throughout the world. The sport combines athleticism, strategy, creativity, grace and fun in a game that can be played competitive or leisurely. Michael, a coach of six national junior champions, can help you take your game to the next level. Our Tennis 1 classes are geared for beginners, Tennis 2 for the next level; and Tennis 3 for intermediate and advance players. Plus we offer Beginning Tennis (ages 8-14) for boys and girls. Classes are held off campus at a great facility and enrollment is limited to 10 per class, so register today for these classes.
Summer will soon be here in Southern California and pool parties and trips to the beach are just around the corner. We offer great water and swim classes for people of every age in our 4-foot-deep indoor pool. We have Parent & Me Water Fun to help children ages 6 months to 36 months get used to the water. We offer Parent & Me Water Basics for kids age 3-5, and beginning swim classes Kids Swimming Level 1 for ages 5-7 and Kids Swimming Level 1 for ages 7-14. For boys and girls who have completed the level 1 class or know basic swim techniques, we have Kids Swimming Level 2 for ages 5-7 and Kids Swimming Level 2 for ages 7-14. For adults, we offer Adult Swimming Level 1 and Adult Swimming Level 2 classes. Class size is limited, so register early for these popular classes that always fill up.
Gymnastics is a great way to enhance your child’s motor development and hand-eye coordination. Westside Extension offers a large assortment of gymnastics classes geared for all ages, starting with toddlers as young as 2 and progressing to girls, boys and teens. Classes are held at the Josephson Academy of Gymnastics, a first-class gymnastics training center in Culver City.
