Construction Primer

Training course geared toward the minimum requirements for entry into the construction field as a pre-apprentice, including knowledge and skills necessary to receive OSHA 1O and carpenter level 1 certificates. Classroom instruction will cover basic safety procedures, general workplace skills, and an introduction to construction math. Hands-on instruction will include overview of basic carpentry tools and materials. Participants will receive hard hat, gloves, goggles, t-shirt, and dust mask. Cost: $770


 

 

Construction 101 

Drawing on the knowledge gained in Construction Primer, includes classroom and hands-on instruction, plus a field grip to a union training facility. Covers safety training, tools and materials recognition, construction math, hazardous material handling and OSHA procedures, workplace skills like communication and time management, job search and interview skills, and an overview of carpenters' and laborers' union application process. Includes all Construction Primer supplies, plus extra t-shirt and workboots. Participants will receive the following certifications upon successful completion of the program: OSHA 30-Construction, HAZMAT-8, and Blueprint for Workplace Success. There will also be an opportunity to test for Carpenter Level 2. Cost: $1,770

 

 
 

 

 

Construction Technical Math 

Teaches the algebraic concepts and reading skills for Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) construction trade apprenticeship programs. Classroom instruction will focus on Math skills that are used in the MEP trades, using relevant, real-world examples from the MEP trades to improve your understanding of the concepts. You'll improve your reading comprehension and mechanical reasoning, plus get assistance with the MEP trade apprenticeship program application. Successful participants will receive the Local Union II, ETI and NECA Certificate of Completion for Algebra Prerequisite upon completion of the program. Cost: $1,770


Construction 500 
NEW

500-hour pre-apprenticeship program designed to prepare individuals for entry into the construction industry as a 1st Period Apprentice. Under the tutilage of a journeyman carpenter, students will learn a wide variety of carpentry skills from introdutory to advanced. Cost: $5,617
