This 40-hour security guard class is designed to prepare students for entry-level employment and to obtain a guard card. The class includes the initial Power to Arrest (Business and Professions Code section 7583.7) and Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) & Terrorism Awareness training, as well as the additional 32 hours of state-mandated training. The additional subject matter includes public relations, observation & discrimination, communication, liability/legal aspects, post orders & assignments, evacuation procedures, officer safety, access control, and handling difficult people.
