The Fall 2023 CE Symposium will consist of the following topics: Infection Control, Legislative Trends in Dental Hygiene and California Practice Act.

9-11am
2-hr Infection Control (2 CEs)
Instructor: Lisa Kamibayashi
This course trains individuals interested in a career in dental assisting in infection control skills and techniques according to OSHA guidelines and state laws and regulations. It prepares them to work safely in a dental office.

11am-12pm
Legislative Trends in Dental Hygiene (1 CE)
Instructors: Aaron Benitez

12-2pm
 2-hr California Practice Act (2 CEs)
Instructor: Dr. Carmen Dones
This course will provide an overview of the Dental Practice Act and will discuss current changes in the law, risk management, and infection control issues. It will keep you and your staff up-to-date with regulations affecting your practice. Topics include:
 • Scope of Practice
 • Requirements for renewal of a license
 • Use of auxiliaries in a dental practice
 • Laws governing the prescribing of drugs
 • Acts in violation of the Dental Practice Act
 • Dental Board Enforcement Program
 • Pending regulations

A Zoom link will be emailed 24 hours before session begins.  Attendees for all three parts will receive a total of 5 CEUs.
