Looks complex, but it’s soooo simple! You don’t need to be artsy or creative to make what looks like a charcoal painting—and have a blast doing it. This easy-but-beautiful form of Asian printmaking is accessble to anyone. Collagraphy is a process of cutting, pasting, and gluing layers to a thick surface (plate) and/or carving, cutting, and peeling to take material away. The resulting plate can be inked and you’ll print your design on fine Asian paper to take home and wow your friends. You’ll also take home the plate you create, in case you want to make additional prints. Material fee of $20 covers inks, paper, and equipment used in class. Bring an X-Acto knife with extra blades and a pencil. Class is hands-on, so dress accordingly.

It's A Wrap!

ID:37375
Art anyone can make. You won’t believe your eyes! Even if you don’t think you have artistic talent, you’ll make beautiful art that can be clothes, handbags, jewelry, pillows, table cloths, upholstery, lamp shades, book illustrations, wrapping paper, and more! Fabric is very forgiving and textile art can be done easily in the kitchen or on the balcony because it dries fast. Even if the result is a surprise, it will be beautiful—and the process can be very therapeutic. Plus some of RoseMary’s students began selling their work almost immediately using RoseMary’s tips. You will take home several silk scarves each week. Have a blast mixing and matching all the techniques you’ve learned as you create one final masterpiece! You’ll get to satisfy all your creativity with a hands-on project of your choice, limited only by your imagination. And since many of RoseMary’s students have gone on to sell their art, the last half hour will be devoted to how and where to sell, pricing, and marketing. Students who want to earn a Textile Design certificate will complete a special project.  *$20 material fee due at registration. Beautiful, long-lasting succulent centerpieces provide style and color with minimal care. They’re inexpensive and easy to make from cuttings—and as they grow, they can be divided to create additional arrangements for your office, home, or patio. They also make great gifts that keep on giving!  The variety of shapes, colors and textures makes for unusual and interesting arrangements, and require minimal water. In this hands-on class, you’ll design your own living arrangement to take home and enjoy. Your instructor will provide potting soil and the succulents, you just bring the container 10" x 10" or smaller (ceramic pot, teacup, unusual bowls, be creative!). $5 material fee due at registration.
